Emotional poisioning weakens the body

FROM WORK IN PROGRESS. COPYRIGHT © JOHN BRACY 2008

For a long time I've been fascinated with the secret of select masters who were well documented to be able to manifest effortless power. Recently new evidence has emerged suggesting exceptional physical performance is closely linked to documented mind-body states.  Other pages on this website have discussed how internal energy is linked to mind-body states such as those described by Professor William Tiller, Professor Emeritus of material science at Stanford University.

Tiller's finding that some mental and emotional states have the power to affect the health of the body, for better or worse, in measurable and predictable ways suggest that a hierarchy of emotions and attitudes exist that influence the health of the heart, and by extrapolation, the relative health of the body.  Thus, it is useful to consider what other researchers have discovered about attitudes and emotions and the effect these have on the strength or weakness of the body.

Part II: Psychobiological Harmony

Psychiatrist John Diamond, MD has constructed a number of interesting tests to examine the role of attitude and emotion in relation to body strength and weakness. Referring to life enhancing force as "love," and to forces that drain the body's energy system as "hate,"  of particularly interest are Diamond's observations the nature of responses to be either openness and growth based or protective and describes how these dual-pole understanding of responses govern immune system, strength and empowerment.

Psychobiological Harmony

Diamond describes psychobiological harmony as the place where "chi flows, brain hemispheres are balanced and where all parts are joined together for the good of the whole" [1]  For Diamond the flow of chi life energy is directly related to the health of the thymus gland in the upper center of the chest.

Diamond's work is based on clinical observations as a psychiatrist that allowed him to develop a useful way of understanding relationships between emotion and the body's subtle energy field. Like Tiller and HeartMath researchers cited earlier, Diamond also observed attitude and emotions to influence overall health (immune system response) and strength (physical strength or weakness) because of the effect on these by what he called the body's "life force."

Diamond found evidence of the relationship between attitude and emotions and health, especially in terms of the body's ability to fight disease like cancer and found that the body's ability to resist or recover from illness was directly related to a strong or weak thymus which in turn was responsive to attitude and emotions.
